The Ubiquiti UniFi Switch Pro 24 (USW-Pro-24) is a managed Layer 3 switch designed for enterprise, campus, and advanced SMB networks that require reliable high-density connectivity and scalable uplink capacity. The switch provides 24 Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 ports, each supporting 1G / 100M / 10M speeds, enabling seamless integration of modern and legacy network devices across access layers. For high-bandwidth aggregation and backbone connectivity, the unit includes two 10G SFP+ ports with support for both 10G and 1G fiber modules. These uplinks are ideal for connecting to core switches, servers, or storage systems, helping eliminate bottlenecks and maintain low-latency traffic flow between network segments.

The switch supports Layer 3 functionality, allowing it to perform routing tasks within local networks rather than acting purely as a Layer 2 device. This makes it suitable not only as an access switch but also as a distribution layer component in structured network designs. Housed in a rack-mountable 1U form factor, the USW-Pro-24 is engineered for clean installation in professional racks and cabinets. It supports rack depths from 400 to 1200 mm, making it compatible with most standard server and telecom racks. The UniFi Switch Pro 24 delivers enterprise-class processing capacity to ensure smooth operation under heavy traffic loads. It features a switching capacity of 88 Gbps and total non-blocking throughput of 44 Gbps, allowing simultaneous full-speed communication across ports without internal congestion. With a forwarding rate of 65 Mpps, the switch can process very high packet volumes with minimal delay, which is essential for dense client environments and real-time applications. Network segmentation and scale are supported through up to 1,000 VLANs, enabling granular separation of departments, services, and tenants. A MAC address table size of 16,000 entries allows the switch to track large numbers of connected devices, while a 2 MB packet buffer helps absorb burst traffic and reduce packet loss.

Layer 3 operation includes a local DHCP server, DHCP relay, inter-VLAN routing, and static routing for internal networks. The L3 table supports 768 ARP entries and 64 IPv4 routes, enabling efficient internal traffic routing without requiring every flow to pass through an external router. Access control is enforced using IPv4 ACLs and MAC-based ACLs, with 128 rules available for each type. Layer 2 functionality is extensive and designed for modern converged networks. Thermal performance is predictable, with heat dissipation rated at 102.4 BTU/hr, helping administrators plan rack cooling accurately. The enclosure and mounting hardware are both constructed from durable SGCC steel, providing structural strength and vibration resistance in rack deployments.

For local monitoring and quick diagnostics, the switch includes a 1.3-inch touchscreen LCM display that shows device status and key operational data directly on the front panel. Management is performed via Ethernet using the UniFi Network application, with a minimum required version of 5.12.11 or later, enabling centralized configuration, monitoring, and firmware control across the UniFi ecosystem. Operational durability is enhanced by ESD protection rated at ±16kV air and ±12kV contact, reducing the risk of damage from static discharge during installation and servicing.
