Powerful Connectivity
The Teltonika SWM280 is a professional managed PoE+ switch engineered for demanding networks and multisite deployments. The switch is equipped with 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mbps, auto MDI/MDIX), of which 12 support PoE+ with up to 30 W per port and a combined PoE power budget of 300 W. This design lets IP cameras, wireless access points and other powered devices receive power and data over a single Ethernet cable, simplifying installation. Four dedicated SFP ports accept fiber modules for resilient uplinks and extended distances. The switch provides a non-blocking switching capacity of 56 Gbps and a forwarding rate of 83.33 Mpps to handle heavy traffic loads. With a 512 KB packet buffer and an 8K MAC address table, it copes reliably with bursts and high device density, maintaining low latency and stable throughput for CCTV and enterprise edge networks.
Smart Management
Running Teltonika’s TSW-OS, an OpenWrt-based operating system, the SWM280 provides extensive management and security tools to simplify network administration. It supports VLANs for traffic segmentation, link aggregation (LACP) to increase uplink throughput, port isolation and port mirroring for diagnostics, plus STP/RSTP for loop prevention. Advanced Quality of Service features such as 802.1p and DSCP prioritisation, bandwidth control and traffic shaping let you prioritise voice, video and critical M2M traffic. Network services include DHCP in server, client and static modes and static IPv4/IPv6 routing. Management is available via the web interface, SNMP v2/v3 and LLDP. Security includes 802.1X authentication, MAC filtering, RADIUS and TACACS+ support and access control lists to restrict unwanted traffic. Support for industrial protocols including PROFINET (Class B optional), EtherNet/IP and MRP makes the SWM280 suitable for automation systems. Two years of RMS remote management are included for centralized monitoring, firmware updates and configuration rollout.
Industrial Design
The SWM280 is built for long-term professional use with a durable anodized aluminum chassis. It supports flexible installation with a rack mounting kit, ensuring easy integration into standard IT environments and professional network setups. Its compact and lightweight design makes the switch easy to install in standard network racks or cabinets, without taking up much space or adding unnecessary weight. The switch operates in ambient temperatures from 0 °C to 50 °C and tolerates relative humidity up to 90% non-condensing; the enclosure meets IP30 protection for indoor industrial environments. Power is supplied via an IEC C14 connector with a universal 100–240 VAC input range. Power consumption measures approximately 7.5 W at idle and can reach up to 325 W at full load including PoE output. Front-panel LEDs indicate power status and per-port link/activity. These characteristics make the SWM280 a dependable choice for CCTV, Wi-Fi and industrial edge deployments.
