Built-in connection monitoring tools such as Ping Reboot, Wget Reboot, and periodic checks ensure network stability by automatically detecting and recovering from connectivity issues. Security is a core aspect of the TAP400. The device supports modern Wi-Fi security standards, including WPA2-Enterprise, WPA3-SAE, WPA3-EAP, and OWE, ensuring secure authentication and encrypted communication. Additional features such as client isolation, protected management frames (802.11w), and certificate-based authentication (EAP-TLS) provide enhanced protection against unauthorized access.

It features a dual-core MediaTek processor running at 1.3 GHz, supported by 512 MB DDR3 RAM and dual flash storage (16 MB NOR and 512 MB NAND), ensuring smooth performance and efficient handling of network tasks. The device includes a high-speed 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet uplink port, allowing it to fully utilize the capabilities of Wi-Fi 6 and deliver maximum throughput to connected devices. Power is supplied via PoE (802.3af), simplifying installation by reducing the need for additional power cabling. The access point consumes less than 7 W in idle mode and up to 11 W under load, making it energy-efficient for continuous operation. Centralized management is enabled through Teltonika RMS (Remote Management System), allowing administrators to configure, monitor, and troubleshoot devices remotely.
Features such as firmware updates (FOTA), event logging, system diagnostics, and API access provide full control over the network environment. The RMS platform also enables management of multiple devices and visualization of network topology through an interactive map.
