4G Vehicle GPS Tracker
The Teltonika FTC920 is a next-generation 4G LTE Cat 1 vehicle GPS tracker designed for fleet telematics, asset and workforce monitoring, and car sharing, rental, and leasing applications. Built on Teltonika’s Fleet Telematics platform, it combines LTE Cat 1 and GSM/GPRS connectivity with multi-constellation GNSS support for GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, and BEIDOU. The GNSS receiver uses 135 tracking and acquisition channels and supports up to 41 visible satellites, helping deliver precise positioning for location-based services. Position accuracy is specified at under 1.8 m CEP, while hot start can take less than one second and warm start less than 25 seconds, supporting fast recovery of location data after different operating states.
Cellular communication is supported across defined 2G and 4G LTE bands, with LTE FDD Cat 1 data rates up to 10 Mbps downlink and 5 Mbps uplink. The tracker supports SMS in TEXT and PDU formats together with TCP, UDP, TLS, EGTS, and MQTT network protocols, giving it several communication options for telematics data exchange. An internal high-gain GNSS antenna and internal high-gain cellular antenna keep the core radio components integrated within the device. The FTC920 also includes 128 MB of internal flash memory and uses a Nano-SIM. Together, these capabilities make the tracker suitable for installations that need cellular data transmission, accurate GNSS positioning, and integrated vehicle tracking functions in a compact telematics device.
Vehicle Monitoring Functions
The FTC920 provides one digital input, one digital output, and one analog input for connecting vehicle signals and supporting control scenarios. Ignition can be detected through Digital Input 1, the accelerometer, or external power voltage, while the digital output can be controlled through supported configuration and command methods. An integrated accelerometer enables functions such as crash detection, towing detection, Eco Driving, excessive idling, trip monitoring, odometer tracking, over-speeding alerts, auto geofencing, static navigation, network jamming detection, and unplug detection. Custom scenarios are also supported, allowing the tracker’s available inputs, sensors, and monitoring functions to be adapted to different fleet-management requirements, including remote vehicle control measures such as engine blocking.
Power is supplied from a 10-30 V DC input, and an internal 170 mAh Li-Ion backup battery allows operation when external power is unavailable. Optimised sleep modes are intended to extend autonomous operation and reduce vehicle battery drainage. The compact 93 x 43 x 12.5 mm enclosure weighs 65 g and is specified for operation from -40 °C to +85 °C with 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity. USB 2.0 through USB Type-C is provided for local connectivity, while two status LEDs indicate device state. Configuration and firmware maintenance can be handled through FOTA WEB and Teltonika Configuration Tool, with configuration, digital output control, and debugging also available through SMS and GPRS commands. Time synchronization is supported through GNSS, NITZ, and NTP.
