OBDII Fleet Tracking
The FMM003 is a compact plug-and-play OBDII tracker designed for vehicle monitoring applications that require LTE Cat M1 connectivity, GNSS positioning, and access to vehicle data through a single device. It connects through the vehicle’s OBDII socket, allowing installation without separate wiring for the main connection. This makes it suitable for fleet management of light commercial vehicles, driver log-book applications, insurance telematics, connected car use cases, and car rental or leasing fleets. The device supports LTE Cat M1 and Cat NB2 cellular technologies, with EGPRS bands also listed for 2G operation. This communication setup allows the tracker to transmit vehicle and event data through supported mobile networks, while SMS text and data support provides an additional communication channel.
GNSS positioning is supported through GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BEIDOU, SBAS, QZSS, DGPS, and AGPS, helping the tracker determine vehicle location across different operating conditions. Stated accuracy and startup performance support practical monitoring during trips, stops, and restart scenarios. The tracker includes internal high-gain GNSS and GSM antennas, a Micro-SIM slot, Micro-USB, two status LEDs, 128 MB internal flash memory, and a 170 mAh Li-Ion backup battery. Its compact 67.2 x 49.6 x 25 mm housing and 63 g weight support discreet installation through the OBDII connector.
Bluetooth Sensor Support
The FMM003 extends standard tracking by reading vehicle data from the OBD interface, including OEM fuel level, odometer information, and up to 32 onboard vehicle parameters where supported. Its OBD interface supports HS CAN, MS CAN, SW CAN, and K-line data, as well as multiple OBD protocols. This allows the device to provide vehicle-specific data when supported, helping fleet operators understand not only where a vehicle is, but also selected details about its operation. Fuel monitoring can be based on OBDII data, while ignition detection can use the accelerometer, external power voltage, or engine RPM.
The built-in accelerometer also supports event-based scenarios such as Green Driving, over-speeding detection, excessive idling detection, unplug detection, towing detection, crash detection, trip monitoring, automatic and manual geofencing, and jamming detection. These functions help turn vehicle movement and status changes into useful operational events. Bluetooth® 4.0 + LE enables connection with supported external devices, including temperature and humidity sensors, an OBDII dongle, an Inateck barcode scanner, and universal Bluetooth® LE sensors. Configuration and firmware updates are supported through FOTA Web, FOTA, Teltonika Configurator via USB or Bluetooth®, and the FMBT mobile application. Sleep modes, including GPS Sleep, Online Deep Sleep, Deep Sleep, and Ultra Deep Sleep, help reduce device activity when full operation is not required.
