4G Vehicle Tracker
The Teltonika FTC924 is a 4G LTE Cat 1 vehicle GPS tracker designed for fleet telematics, insurance telematics, cold chain monitoring, driver behaviour monitoring, and anti-theft applications. It combines LTE Cat 1, GSM/GPRS, and multi-constellation GNSS support in a compact unit for continuous vehicle monitoring and data transmission. The integrated GNSS receiver works with GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, and BEIDOU and supports up to 41 visible satellites, helping improve positioning quality for location-based services. Position accuracy is specified at under 1.8 m CEP, while hot-start acquisition takes less than one second, allowing the tracker to resume positioning quickly when satellite data is already available.
Cellular communication supports LTE FDD Cat 1 with download speeds up to 10 Mbps and upload speeds up to 5 Mbps, with GSM/GPRS available alongside LTE. The tracker can exchange data through TCP, UDP, TLS, EGTS, and MQTT, and it also supports SMS in TEXT and PDU formats. Bluetooth 5.4 LE extends the device beyond basic vehicle positioning by allowing wireless connection to external EYE Beacons and sensors. These peripherals can be used for monitoring parameters such as temperature, humidity, magnet detection, and movement, which broadens the range of supported tracking and monitoring scenarios. Internal high-gain GNSS and cellular antennas keep the main communication functions integrated into the device without requiring separate antennas for standard operation.
Installation and Operation
FTC924 provides a practical set of vehicle-oriented interfaces for integrating tracking with external signals and equipment. It includes two digital inputs, one digital output, one analog input, and digital ground sense through Digital Input 2. Ignition status can be detected through Digital Input 1, the accelerometer, or external power voltage, giving installers several supported methods for determining vehicle activity. The built-in accelerometer also contributes to operating scenarios such as trip detection, while the device includes Over Speeding Detection, Network Jamming Detection, and Unplug Detection functions. A USB 2.0 USB Type-C interface is available, together with two status LEDs, Nano-SIM support, and 128 MB of internal flash memory.
Power is supplied from a 10-30 V DC input, while an internal 170 mAh Li-Ion backup battery provides an additional onboard power source. Optimised Online sleep, Deep sleep, and Power off sleep modes are intended to extend autonomous operation and reduce vehicle battery drainage when full activity is not required. Configuration and firmware updates are supported through FOTA WEB and the Teltonika Configuration Tool (TCT), while time can be synchronized using GNSS, NITZ, or NTP. The compact 93 x 43 x 12.5 mm housing weighs 65 g. Without the battery, the specified operating temperature range is -40 °C to +85 °C; with the battery, operation is specified from 0 °C to +45 °C. Supported operating humidity is 5% to 95% non-condensing.
