Outdoor 5G Router
MikroTik LAMP 5G R16 is an outdoor 5G connectivity device designed for locations where pointing a directional antenna at one fixed base station is not ideal. Instead of relying on a narrow antenna direction, it uses omnidirectional antennas to work with available networks around the installation point. This makes it suitable for urban deployments, backup connectivity, ports, industrial sites, transport hubs, and other environments where several towers may be within reach and network conditions can change during the day. If a better signal becomes available or the current network conditions change, the device can adapt without requiring physical antenna realignment.
The device includes a modern 5G SA/NSA modem and supports both standalone and non-standalone 5G operation. Its mobile connectivity is backed by 4×4 MIMO downlink and 2×2 MIMO uplink, helping the device use the available radio link efficiently where supported by the network. LTE Category 20 and 3G support provide additional cellular compatibility for deployments where 5G is not the only available access technology. With one Gigabit Ethernet port, LAMP 5G R16 delivers the mobile connection to the local network through a wired interface, making it suitable as an outdoor cellular endpoint for routers, switches, or other network equipment.
eSIM Connectivity
LAMP 5G R16 is built to simplify mobile service activation, especially when devices are installed outdoors or deployed across multiple sites. It includes both a microSIM slot and built-in eSIM support, allowing installers and operators to choose between a physical SIM card and a remotely managed eSIM profile. The eSIM option is especially useful when installations need to be activated without opening the device or handling SIM cards on site. Operators can activate data plans remotely and bring new installations online more quickly, which is practical for larger deployments as well as individual devices in hard-to-reach locations.
The device is compatible with MikroTik Connectivity, a pre-activated data service intended to help users get connected with less setup work. It also supports third-party eSIM providers and multiple eSIM profiles. This allows different operator plans to be stored on a single device and switched when connectivity needs change. For backup links, roaming setups, or multi-operator networks, this gives more flexibility than relying only on one physical SIM card. The device runs RouterOS v7 with License level 3 and is based on a dual-core ARM 64-bit platform with 512 MB of DDR3L memory and 32 MB of flash storage, providing the system environment for routing and network operation.
Weatherproof Housing
LAMP 5G R16 is designed for demanding outdoor installations, including locations exposed to rain, dust, temperature changes, and salty sea air. Its IP67-rated enclosure protects the device for outdoor use, while EN 60945 maritime certification makes it suitable for marine communication environments such as ports, marinas, coastal infrastructure, and vessels. The operating temperature range from -40 °C to +70 °C supports deployment in harsh weather conditions. The included stainless-steel mounting bracket further reinforces its suitability for outdoor and marine installations.
The device can be mounted on a pole or wall. The mounting diagram shows pole installation for 25–60 mm pole diameters and wall installation using 6 mm predrilled holes for dowels. With dimensions of 276 × 267 × 133 mm including the mount, the unit is sized for fixed exterior placement rather than desktop use. Power is supplied through PoE-In, with support for 802.3af/at and a 12–56 V input range. A 24 V 0.5 A power adapter and Gigabit PoE injector are included, helping provide the required power connection through the Ethernet cabling. Built-in GNSS support covers GPS, Glonass, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS, enabling positioning for fleet management, asset tracking, remote infrastructure, and non-critical location-aware applications.
