The Chateau 5G R17 ax features a next-generation 5G modem (Release 17, model RG650E) capable of ultra-fast connectivity with peak speeds reaching up to 7.01 Gbps downlink and 1.25 Gbps uplink in 5G standalone mode. It also supports 5.47 Gbps downlink and 730 Mbps uplink in non-standalone (NSA) mode, offering broad compatibility with various 5G bands including FDD: B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20/B26/B28/B67/B75/B76 and TDD: B38/B40/B41/B77/B78. For fallback, it provides LTE Cat 20 connectivity with download speed up to 2.0 Gbps and upload speed up to 200 Mbps, along with 3G support. On the wireless side, dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) delivers up to 1.2 Gbps on the 5 GHz band and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, powered by dual 2×2 MIMO chains. Built-in 6 dBi antennas for 5 GHz and 3 dBi for 2.4 GHz ensure wide coverage and strong signal performance throughout the home or office.

It includes two external high-gain 5G/LTE antennas and a flat 1.5 m Ethernet cable for easy deployment. Power is supplied via the included 24 V 1.2 A adapter, with operating voltage ranging from 12 V to 28 V DC and maximum power consumption at 26 W (16 W typical without peripherals). This device meets global standards and certifications including CE, FCC, IC, EAC, and RoHS. On the software side, it runs RouterOS v7 with a Level 4 license, supporting advanced security protocols such as WPA3 for Wi-Fi, SSL encryption, VPN tunneling, IP filtering, 802.1X authentication, and regular firmware updates for optimal protection.
