Alfa Tube-AH

The Alfa Tube-AH is the WiFi HaLow outdoor AP/CPE with PoE support, designed for building long-range and ultra-low power wireless networks in license-exempt sub-1 GHz frequency bands. Built for outdoor deployments, the compact mast-mount enclosure makes it suitable for industrial IoT, smart agriculture, remote monitoring, and large-area wireless connectivity applications where traditional WiFi technologies may struggle to reach. Powered by the NXP i.MX GULL processor paired with the Newracom NRC7292 HaLow radio chipset, the Tube-AH delivers reliable performance with efficient power consumption. The ARM Cortex-A7 based SoC operates at 528 MHz, providing stable operation for advanced wireless networking tasks and OpenWrt-based deployments.

The system supports OFDM modulation with BPSK, QPSK, 16QAM, and 64QAM modulation schemes, enabling flexible communication across varying signal conditions. The device supports data rates from 150 Kbps up to 15 Mbps with selectable 1, 2, and 4 MHz channel bandwidths, helping optimize range and throughput depending on deployment requirements. Regional frequency support includes 847 MHz for Taiwan, 866 MHz for Europe, 915 MHz for the United States, 922 MHz for Korea, and 924 MHz for Japan. A Type-N antenna connector allows integration with external high-gain antennas for extended wireless coverage and specialized outdoor installations.

The Alfa Tube-AH is designed to provide a flexible and developer-friendly platform for next-generation WiFi HaLow networking. Official support for OpenWrt based on Linux Kernel 5.10 and newer, together with U-Boot 2021.x support, gives integrators and developers extensive customization options for professional networking and IoT deployments. The device also includes access to the Newracom SDK, enabling advanced development and integration possibilities for custom wireless applications and embedded systems. The hardware platform includes 256 MB of DDR3L memory combined with 32 MB of QSPINOR flash storage, with optional 2 GB, 4 GB, or 8 GB eMMC storage configurations available for expanded application requirements.

Connectivity is provided through a Fast Ethernet interface with integrated ESD protection, improving durability and helping protect the device in outdoor and industrial environments. Power is supplied through passive PoE with 12 to 36 V DC input support, simplifying outdoor installation and reducing the need for separate power cabling. The system also supports an optional 802.3at/af standard power module for additional deployment flexibility. Front panel indicators include dedicated LEDs for power and status, LAN activity, WLAN TX, and WLAN RX monitoring, while an integrated reset push button simplifies device management and maintenance. With its combination of flexible software support, outdoor-ready hardware, and efficient long-range wireless technology, the Tube-AH is a powerful solution for modern low-power wireless networking projects.
