Compact LTE Gateway
The Teltonika TRB140 is an ultra-compact industrial LTE gateway designed for IoT, M2M, industrial automation, and remote monitoring applications where reliable internet connectivity is essential. Equipped with 4G LTE Cat 4 technology, the gateway supports download speeds of up to 150 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 50 Mbps, ensuring stable and efficient remote communication. Automatic fallback to 3G and 2G networks helps maintain uninterrupted connectivity even in areas with unstable mobile coverage. The device features one Gigabit Ethernet port with support for IEEE 802.3, 802.3u, and 802.3az standards, enabling fast and reliable wired connectivity for industrial equipment and network devices. Advanced mobile networking features include operator allow and block lists, automatic APN configuration, SIM PIN management, multiple PDN support, band lock, and mobile WAN passthrough.
Bridge mode allows direct communication between the mobile ISP and LAN device, simplifying integration into existing infrastructures. Despite its compact size, the TRB140 provides extensive monitoring and communication capabilities. The gateway supports SMS utilities including SMS to HTTP, SMS to email, scheduled SMS, and SMS autoreply functions. Detailed mobile diagnostics including RSSI, SINR, RSRP, RSRQ, operator information, bandwidth, and cell ID monitoring help administrators maintain optimal network performance. With its lightweight aluminium housing and energy-efficient operation, the TRB140 is an ideal connectivity solution for projects requiring dependable industrial LTE access in a minimal form factor.
Advanced Network Control
The Teltonika TRB140 is powered by RutOS, an OpenWrt-based operating system designed for advanced industrial networking and remote management applications. The gateway supports a wide range of network protocols including TCP, UDP, IPv4, IPv6, MQTT, SNMP, HTTPS, SSH, VXLAN, DHCP, and PPPoE, enabling seamless integration into industrial and enterprise infrastructures. Static routing, DHCP relay, QoS, Smart Queue Management, and DNS over HTTPS provide stable, secure, and optimised data communication. To ensure continuous operation, the TRB140 supports automatic failover using mobile, wired, and VRRP backup options. Connection monitoring tools such as Ping Reboot, Wget Reboot, periodic reboot, and link inspection help maximise uptime in critical environments.
Additional features including hotspot functionality, traffic monitoring, SSHFS support, and network topology visualisation provide enhanced control and diagnostics for remote installations. The gateway supports configurable firewall rules, NAT, NAT64, VLAN separation, DDOS prevention, port scan protection, and flexible access control for WebUI, SSH, CLI, and Telnet management. Authentication methods include X.509 certificates, TACACS+, RADIUS authentication, and SSL certificate generation using Let's Encrypt and SCEP methods. The TRB140 also supports multiple VPN technologies including OpenVPN, IPsec, WireGuard, GRE, PPTP, L2TP, SSTP, ZeroTier, DMVPN, and Tinc. Multiple VPN clients and servers can operate simultaneously, enabling secure remote access and encrypted communication between devices, industrial systems, and remote sites.
Smart Remote Connectivity
Designed for demanding industrial applications, the Teltonika TRB140 combines rugged hardware with extensive automation and remote management capabilities. Housed in a durable aluminium enclosure with IP30 protection, the gateway operates in temperatures from -40 °C to 75 °C and humidity levels from 10% to 90% non-condensing. Measuring only 74.5 x 25 x 64.4 mm and weighing 134 g, the device is ideal for installations where space is limited. DIN rail, wall mount, and flat surface mounting options provide flexible deployment possibilities. The gateway includes one digital input and one digital output for integration with external sensors, alarms, and automation systems. Event notifications can be configured through SMS, email, or RMS, while I/O Juggler functionality allows custom automation actions based on predefined conditions.
Power is supplied through a 4-pin industrial connector supporting 9 - 30 VDC input voltage with reverse polarity and surge protection. Passive PoE over LAN1 also enables more flexible installation scenarios. The TRB140 supports industrial communication protocols including Modbus TCP, OPC UA, DNP3, DLMS/COSEM, and MQTT Gateway functionality. Data can be transmitted through HTTP(S), MQTT, or Azure MQTT protocols, while custom Lua scripting and Package Manager support enable advanced integration and automation projects. Remote management is simplified through RMS, TR-069, SNMP, MQTT, JSON-RPC, AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, ThingWorx, and Cumulocity integration. Firmware updates, diagnostics, and configuration management can all be handled remotely, reducing maintenance costs and improving operational efficiency.
