The Ubiquiti UniFi Switch Pro Max 48 is a high-performance enterprise Layer 3 switch designed for organizations that require a large number of high-speed Ethernet ports, reliable uplinks, and seamless integration into modern network infrastructures. It is an ideal solution for enterprise offices, campus networks, data rooms, and professional AV environments where scalability and performance are critical. The switch provides a total of 48 RJ45 Ethernet ports, offering flexible connectivity for a wide range of devices. This includes 32 × 1 GbE ports supporting 10/100/1000 Mbps connections for standard endpoints such as workstations, printers, and IP phones, as well as 16 × 2.5 GbE ports that deliver higher bandwidth for Wi-Fi 6/6E access points, high-performance workstations, and bandwidth-intensive edge devices. This mixed port configuration allows network administrators to upgrade network speed selectively without replacing the entire switching infrastructure.

For high-capacity uplinks and aggregation, the switch is equipped with 4 × 10G SFP+ ports, supporting both 10G and 1G connections. It delivers a switching capacity of 224 Gbps and 112 Gbps of total non-blocking throughput, allowing all ports to operate simultaneously at full speed without congestion. With a forwarding rate of 167 million packets per second, the switch maintains consistent performance even during peak network usage. The switch supports up to 1,000 VLANs, enabling detailed network segmentation for security, traffic management, and organizational structure. A MAC address table with 32,000 entries ensures stable operation in environments with a high number of connected devices, while the 2 MB packet buffer helps absorb traffic bursts and reduce packet loss.

The UniFi Switch Pro Max 48 is designed for continuous 24/7 operation and integrates seamlessly with UniFi Network software version 8.0.24 and later. Management is performed via Ethernet or AR, providing centralized configuration, monitoring, and diagnostics across the UniFi ecosystem. The switch features an internal AC/DC power supply rated at 100W and supports a universal AC input range of 100–240V at 50/60 Hz. In addition to the primary AC input, a USP RPS DC input is available for power redundancy. Maximum power consumption is 100W, ensuring energy-efficient operation. Heat dissipation of 341.2 BTU/hr supports effective thermal management in rack installations.

The enclosure and mounting components are constructed from durable SGCC steel, providing mechanical strength and long-term reliability. The switch operates reliably within an ambient temperature range of -5 to 40 °C and humidity levels of 10–90% non-condensing. Visual port identification is enhanced by Etherlighting™, which supports both Ethernet and SFP+ interfaces and simplifies troubleshooting in complex installations.
