Mimosa A5-360 Access Point 14dBi ETSI – 1.5 Gbps Gigabit Wireless Broadband

The Mimosa A5-360 is a multipoint wireless access point for service-provider broadband networks, combining up to 1.0 Gbps IP throughput with capacity for as many as 100 clients. It operates across 4900–6200 MHz, subject to country restrictions, and uses 4x4:4 MIMO OFDM with modulation up to 256-QAM. The platform supports 20, 40, and 80 MHz channels, with 5 MHz tuning increments for GPS Sync operation and standard WiFi channels for WiFi Interop. Maximum output power is 30 dBm, while the integrated antenna provides 14 dBi gain with a 70° azimuth beamwidth. These radio characteristics combine high client capacity, configurable channel operation, and integrated antenna coverage within a single multipoint access platform.

Gigabit Ethernet connectivity complements the wireless platform, while advanced AP control handles capacity and subscriber management. Mimosa describes integrated GPS Sync technology for coordinating devices across the network and enabling channel reuse; the technical specifications note that GPS Sync-related features are enabled in a future software release. Smart Spectrum Management actively scans and logs RF interference across channels without affecting service, then dynamically optimizes channel and bandwidth use. Advanced automatic gain control is also used to suppress underlying interference, with only 10 dB of operating margin specified. Together, these functions focus the A5 on coordinated spectrum use and active management of radio conditions across multipoint broadband networks.

Mimosa Cloud provides network-wide monitoring and management for the A5, interacting with deployed devices to assist with performance and capacity management. Local administration is also available through an HTML5-based Web UI and a dedicated 2.4 GHz 802.11b/g/n radio, while HTTPS and Syslog are included among the management services. Subscriber control extends to per-subscriber VLANs, Q-in-Q and triple tagging, a management VLAN, four pre-configured QoS levels, and traffic shaping with committed and maximum uplink and downlink rates per CPE. Access control can permit, deny, or remark Layer 2 and Layer 3 traffic flows, while security includes WPA2 PSK, Enterprise 802.1x, Radius provisioning, and 128-bit AES with hardware acceleration.

For outdoor deployment, the A5 carries an IP67 ingress-protection rating and operates from −40 °C to +55 °C. Its enclosure uses UV-stabilized engineered polymer, while the mounting design integrates dual pole-strap feed points into the metal base. Wind survivability is rated at 200 km/h. Power is delivered over Ethernet, with an 802.3at-compliant system power method and compatibility with 48–56 V 802.3at or passive PoE supplies; maximum power consumption is 25 W. The power supply specification also includes IEC 61000-4-5 surge protection, while the system is rated for 6 kV lightning and ESD protection. These characteristics bring power delivery, environmental protection, physical mounting, and network administration together within one outdoor access-point platform.
