Outdoor Dual-Band AP/CPE
The N52Q is an outdoor dual-band 2x2 ac/n AP/CPE designed for deployments that require simultaneous operation on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. Its wireless platform combines QCA9531 and QCA9886 chipsets with 128 MB of RAM and 16 MB of flash memory, supporting data rates of up to 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps on 5 GHz. This dual-concurrent design allows both bands to remain available at the same time, giving installers flexibility to use each frequency according to the wireless role required at the site. Channel width support ranges from 5 to 40 MHz for 11n and from 20 to 80 MHz for 11ac, allowing the radio configuration to be adjusted to the needs of the deployment.
Transmit power reaches 28 dBm on 2.4 GHz and 23 dBm on 5 GHz, supporting outdoor AP/CPE use where radio coverage and link planning are important. The product is available in antenna variants that combine built-in and external options differently across the two bands. The N52Q uses a built-in 2.4 GHz antenna and an external 5 GHz antenna, the N52Q-2F5A reverses that arrangement, and the N52Q-2S5F uses external antennas for both bands. These choices make it possible to select a hardware configuration that matches the intended installation without changing the core wireless platform. The device is intended for outdoor applications including point-to-point bridging and local wireless coverage.
Connectivity and Power
For network and peripheral connectivity, the N52Q provides two Fast Ethernet ports with ESD protection and one USB 2.0 mini-Type-B host interface. Power options depend on the model: the N52Q uses passive 24V PoE, while the N52Q PoE version supports standard 802.3at 48V PoE. A software-controlled PoE-out function is also available through the LAN port, which can provide 24VDC to power another compatible device. This can simplify installations where an additional device needs power from the same network point, but PoE pass-through should only be enabled after confirming that the connected equipment supports passive 24VDC PoE input. Dedicated LED indicators provide status information for power or PoE input, PoE out, both radio bands, and USB activity.
OpenWrt is pre-installed, providing an open-source software platform that can be modified to suit deployment requirements. This gives administrators a configurable software environment without requiring a separate firmware installation before use. The N52Q is specified for operation from -40° C to 65° C and at 5 % to 95 % non-condensing humidity, defining the environmental range intended for installation. Its 300 x 80 x 30 mm enclosure and 500 g weight provide the physical dimensions and mass needed for planning placement and mounting. Together, these characteristics support integration into outdoor network installations while keeping configuration, connectivity, power delivery, and operating conditions within the capabilities stated for the product.
