The Tube-U4Gv2 is an outdoor 4G/LTE USB modem designed to connect a laptop or computer directly to a mobile network through its USB port. It supports LTE-FDD and LTE-TDD operation across the documented Global band set, while also supporting WCDMA and GSM technologies listed for the device. LTE-FDD data rates reach up to 150 Mbps downstream and 50 Mbps upstream, while LTE-TDD supports up to 130 Mbps downstream and 30 Mbps upstream. The modem also supports DC-HSDPA, HSUPA, WCDMA, EDGE, and GPRS data rates, covering several documented cellular modes within the Global version’s supported bands.

A Mini-USB 2.0 interface provides the host connection, and the modem accepts a standard 6-pin SIM card. The USB interface supports high-speed USB 2.0 operation up to 480 Mbps and is backward compatible with USB 1.0. For the radio connection, the device uses an N type female antenna connector and is supplied with a high-gain 4G/LTE omni antenna. The external connector also allows use of a preferred 4G antenna. A Power/Connection LED provides status indication. Actual mobile data performance can vary according to signal strength, coverage, operating frequencies, base-station status, network congestion, and network-management services on the 4G LTE network.
