Smoke and CO Detection
USL-Smoke combines smoke and carbon monoxide detection in a single alarm designed for wall or ceiling mounting. Its two sensing functions are paired with an audible alarm rated at 85 dB at 3 m, giving the unit a clear local warning function without separating smoke and CO detection into different devices. The design also includes a dedicated test/silence button, allowing routine alarm testing and temporary silencing through a clearly defined control. A function button, status and signal indicators, and separate reset control support direct interaction with the unit during installation and use.
Installation can be arranged on either a wall or ceiling, giving the alarm two documented mounting orientations. A tamper switch is built into the hardware, while a deactivation switch provides a separate control for taking the alarm out of service when required. The operating range is specified for indoor ambient conditions from 0 to 40 °C, and the product carries CE, FCC, IC, CAN/ULC 531, CSA 6.19, EN 14604, EN 50291-1, UL 217, and UL 2034 certifications. It is also NDAA compliant, adding another documented purchasing consideration for regulated deployments. Together, these elements define USL-Smoke as an integrated smoke and CO alarm with dedicated local controls, installation flexibility, and certification coverage for the functions and regions identified for the product.
SuperLink Connectivity
USL-Smoke connects through Ubiquiti’s proprietary SuperLink interface and is managed in UniFi Protect. The same platform is available through the UniFi Protect web application and the iOS and Android mobile apps, placing browser and mobile access within the same UniFi Protect software environment and giving buyers both direct access options. SuperLink is specified with a maximum range of 2 km and a maximum transmit power of 14 dBm. Operating frequencies are listed separately for the US at 915.6–927.6 MHz and for the EU at 865.1–869.5 MHz, so the applicable radio version must match the intended region.
Power is divided between the alarm function and SuperLink connectivity rather than relying on one shared battery specification. SuperLink uses a replaceable CR123A lithium battery with a stated life of up to 10 years, while smoke and CO alarm operation is powered by two non-replaceable L91 lithium batteries rated for 10 years. This arrangement makes the connectivity battery separately replaceable while the alarm batteries remain fixed within the unit. Maximum power consumption is 510 mW, and the supported voltage is 3 V. For buyers, the key consideration is therefore not only the combined sensing function, but also the way the device integrates long-life battery operation, SuperLink communication, and UniFi Protect management in one alarm.
