Three-Phase EV Charger
The Ubiquiti UC-EV-Station-Lite is a weatherproof Level 2 charging station designed for three-phase electric vehicle charging. It delivers up to 22 kW from a 400 V AC supply, allowing the unit to serve installations where higher-capacity AC charging is required. The station includes a permanently attached 7 m cable with an IEC 62196-2 Type 2 connector, giving users sufficient reach between the charger and the vehicle without relying on a separate charging cable. Its compact enclosure measures 254.7 × 192.7 × 101.4 mm and is made from polycarbonate, combining a practical form factor with a housing suited to fixed installation. The integrated cable also keeps the charging connection readily available at the parking point.
The charging station can be mounted directly on a wall or installed on a compatible stand, providing flexibility for different parking areas and site layouts. Its IP55 rating protects the enclosure against dust and water exposure associated with outdoor use, while the specified operating range of −30 to 50 °C supports deployment across varied seasonal conditions. The unit is designed for environments with 5–90% non-condensing humidity. Together, the protected enclosure, broad operating range, and choice of mounting methods make the station suitable for permanent charging points where placement, cable reach, and environmental resistance must be considered during installation. These characteristics help installers match the station to both sheltered and exposed locations.
Electrical Installation Options
The EV Station Lite supports both plug-in and hardwired electrical installation, allowing the power connection to be selected according to the site and available circuit. Plug-in operation is supported at 32 A, 25 A, 20 A, 16 A, and 10 A, while hardwired installation additionally supports a 40 A circuit option. The station accommodates several circuit rating and maximum-load combinations, enabling the installer to configure charging demand within the limits of the chosen electrical supply. At its maximum output, the unit operates with three-phase 400 V AC at approximately 32 A and supports both 50 Hz and 60 Hz power systems. Lower maximum-load settings can therefore be matched to circuits that cannot provide the station’s full charging output.
Flexible access control enables managed charging rather than unrestricted use, making the station suitable for locations where charging availability must be administered. A 1.7-inch display presents operating status directly on the unit, giving users immediate visual information at the charging point. The station complies with IEC 61851-1 and carries CE certification, supporting deployment where these electrical charging and conformity requirements apply. By combining selectable installation methods, configurable circuit loading, local status indication, and controlled access, the unit can be adapted to different electrical capacities and operational policies without changing the core charging hardware. This allows electrical planning and user access arrangements to be addressed as separate parts of the same installation.
Network and Management
The charging station provides several network and local connectivity options for integration and management. A Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 port supports a wired network connection, while WiFi offers wireless access using 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax standards. Bluetooth 5.0 is also available, and a USB-C interface is included for local connectivity. This range of interfaces allows the station to be connected in different installation environments, whether a fixed Ethernet run is available or wireless communication is more practical. Processing is handled by a dual-core 1 GHz Arm Cortex-A53 processor, supporting the station’s connected functions and on-device operation. The available connection methods also give installers alternatives when planning network access at the charging location.
Management is provided through UniFi Connect, bringing configuration and charging administration into the same application environment. The station requires UniFi Connect version 3.21 or later, while the supported iOS and Android applications require version 2.32 or later. Centralized software management complements the flexible access-control capability by giving administrators a defined platform for overseeing the charging point. The combination of wired and wireless networking, Bluetooth, USB-C, local processing, and mobile application support gives installers several ways to commission and manage the station. It also allows the charging point to remain accessible through the connection method best suited to the surrounding network infrastructure. Compatibility requirements are clearly defined, helping administrators prepare the appropriate software environment before deployment.
