1-Wire RFID Reader
The Teltonika RFID reader is a 1-Wire wireless authentication reader designed for implementing driver authentication using passive RFID devices. It receives identification data wirelessly from compatible transponders, including cards and tags, providing a practical way to identify users without physical contact between the reader and the authentication device. The reader operates at 125 kHz and supports the Unique 125 kHz RFID device standard. This makes it suitable for systems where passive RFID cards or tags are used as the identification medium.
Once the RFID device is read, the reader emulates the signal as iButton, helping simplify compatibility with systems that use iButton-style identification. Supported 1-Wire commands include Read ROM and Search ROM, enabling the connected system to retrieve and search identification data through the 1-Wire interface. For reading performance, the device offers a reading range of 4 cm. Identification is performed 6 times per second, while a transponder located within the reader’s range is read 2 times per second. This allows the reader to detect nearby RFID devices quickly while maintaining repeated reading when the transponder remains present.
The RFID reader is designed for straightforward wired integration into authentication systems. Its interface uses three wires: a white wire for 1-Wire data, a brown wire for power supply, and a green wire for ground. The supported power supply range of 6.5–30 V DC gives the reader flexibility for use with different compatible power environments, while the 40 cm cable length provides a ready connection point for installation. The reader uses an M12 thread mounting method, which supports secure mechanical installation in suitable panels or surfaces.
Its antenna surface area is 6.8 cm², contributing to the compact reader design while supporting short-range RFID identification. The device is intended for use within an operating temperature range from -20 °C to +55 °C, allowing it to function across typical cold and warm operating conditions specified for the product. The transponder type is Manchester with 64 cycles per bit, defining the supported signal format for compatible RFID devices. The reader is also RoHS certified, making it suitable for applications where compliance with this regulatory requirement is needed.
