Wireless Monitoring Beacon
Teltonika EYE Sensor BTSMP1 is a Bluetooth® Low Energy ID beacon with integrated sensors for asset identification, tracking, and condition monitoring. It is designed for traceability applications, delivery tracking, and monitoring movable objects in logistics, agriculture, and construction, including trailers, containers, tractor attachments, tools, and inventory. By combining Bluetooth identification with sensor data, the device is also suitable for cold chain refrigerator use cases where monitored environmental parameters can be important for accountability and timely response. The device includes Beacon ID, LED indication, temperature, humidity, accelerometer, magnet detection, and hibernate functionality. The accelerometer can detect item movement as well as device pitch and roll, helping identify changes in asset position or orientation.
Magnet detection supports wireless open/close detection and can be used for event notifications such as trailer door activity. Temperature measurement is supported across a -20°C to +60°C range, matching the device’s stated operating temperature range. EYE Sensor supports iBeacon and Eddystone protocols and is compatible with the Teltonika firmware platform. This allows the device to be used in different Bluetooth-based identification and monitoring setups while supporting extended Teltonika functionality. Configuration, data scanning, and updates are handled through the dedicated Teltonika mobile app, helping simplify deployment and ongoing maintenance.
EYE Sensor BTSMP1 is built for practical installation on assets that require compact, lightweight, and protected monitoring hardware. Its enclosure measures 56.6 mm × 38 mm × 13 mm and weighs 18 g, making it suitable for placement on movable objects without adding significant size or weight. The IP67-rated casing helps protect the device in demanding environments, while two mounting holes allow installation with screws, a leash, or a strip. Tape mounting is also supported, giving installers flexibility when attaching the sensor to different surfaces and equipment types. Custom logo options are available upon request under special conditions.
The device uses a non-replaceable CR2450 lithium manganese dioxide battery with 600 mAh total capacity. Battery life depends on the configured transmission interval: more than 2.5 years at a 3-second interval, more than 4 years at the default 5-second interval, more than 5 years at a 10-second interval, and more than 7 years at a 10-second interval when the accelerometer is disabled. This allows deployments to balance update frequency and operating lifetime according to monitoring needs. For wireless communication, the sensor is Bluetooth® 4.2 compliant and Bluetooth® 5.2 certified, with a connectivity range of up to 80 m. It supports transmission power levels up to 8 dBm and is certified under CE RED, FCC, UKCA, RoHS, E-mark, EAC, ANATEL, REACH, SIRIM QAS, SDPPI POSTEL, TELEC, and IP rating.
