MikroTik GPOE-CON-mini 2.5G PoE Converter 48V to 24V Passive

The MikroTik GPOE-CON-mini is a PoE voltage converter designed to connect 24 V Passive PoE devices to network infrastructure that supplies standard 48–57 V 802.3af/at PoE. Installed inline between the powered network connection and the end device, it converts the incoming PoE supply to a 24 V Passive PoE output. This allows an installation built around standard 48 V PoE infrastructure to support compatible 24 V equipment without replacing the existing switch, adding a separate injector, or running another power cable. The converter therefore addresses a specific mismatch between the available PoE source and the power format required by the connected device while keeping the existing Ethernet connection in use.

The GPOE-CON-mini supports network speeds up to 2.5 Gigabit, allowing the same Ethernet link to carry data while the converter handles the required power conversion. Its Passive PoE output is rated at 24 V with up to 0.5 A output current, defining the power characteristics available to compatible equipment. MikroTik specifically identifies the LHG, SXTsq, Groove, and NetBox ax as examples of devices that can be powered through this arrangement. MikroTik describes a deployment in which one Ethernet cable carries both the network connection and power to the required location, with the GPOE-CON-mini performing the conversion close to the 24 V Passive PoE device. This arrangement keeps the change focused at the point where the two power methods need to meet. For outdoor installations, the converter’s enclosure is specifically sized to fit inside the MikroTik GPeR-IP67-Case, providing a documented enclosure compatibility option for placing the converter within that installation system.

Its physical size of 87 × 33 × 20 mm is relevant to this placement because it determines the converter’s fit inside the GPeR-IP67-Case and the space required around the inline connection. The GPOE-CON-mini is also specified for operation from -40 °C to +70 °C, giving installers a defined temperature range to consider when selecting a deployment location. These installation characteristics complement the power-conversion function without changing the surrounding network architecture: the standard PoE feed reaches the converter, the converter changes the supplied voltage to 24 V Passive PoE, and the connected compatible device receives both data and power through the Ethernet path. The result is a focused inline conversion point rather than a separate power arrangement at the device location.
