The Teltonika RUT145 Industrial RS485 Router is a compact, high-performance industrial router designed to provide secure and stable wireless connectivity for critical industrial applications. Equipped with IEEE 802.11b/g/n (Wi-Fi 4), the device can operate in both Access Point (AP) and Station (STA) modes, enabling flexible deployment options depending on network topology. The router supports up to 50 simultaneous Wi-Fi connections, making it ideal for connecting industrial terminals, sensors, and automated devices without compromising performance. Advanced wireless features include support for wireless mesh (802.11s), fast roaming (802.11r), BSS transition management (802.11v), radio resource measurement (802.11k), and Relayd for bridging multiple networks. Security is comprehensive with WPA2-Enterprise (PEAP), WPA2-PSK, WPA3-SAE, WPA3-EAP, WPA, WPA-EAP, and OWE authentication.
Data encryption is managed through AES-CCMP, TKIP, and auto-cipher modes, with client separation and 802.11w Protected Management Frames (PMF) ensuring reliable isolation between connected devices. Administrators can use SSID stealth mode and MAC-based access control to restrict network access to authorized clients only. Thanks to its compact anodized aluminum housing and IP30 rating, the RUT145 is suitable for industrial environments, providing durability while protecting internal components from dust. Its integrated DIN rail bracket ensures secure installation, and additional mounting kits allow wall or flat surface placement if needed. Network Control
The Teltonika RUT145 Industrial RS485 Router provides extensive network management and routing features tailored for professional and industrial deployments. It supports both static and dynamic routing protocols, including BGP, OSPF v2, RIP v1/v2, EIGRP, and NHRP, alongside policy-based routing for precise traffic control. The router fully supports IPv4 and IPv6 networks and a wide range of protocols, including TCP, UDP, ICMP, NTP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP/SFTP, SMTP, SSL/TLS, ARP, VRRP, PPP, PPPoE, UPnP, SSH, DHCP, Telnet, SMPP, SNMP, MQTT, and Wake-on-LAN. VoIP traffic is also supported via H.323 and SIP-ALG NAT helpers, allowing proper routing of voice packets without disruption. Quality of Service (QoS) is implemented with Smart Queue Management (SQM), prioritizing traffic by source, destination, protocol, service, or port.
Wireless traffic prioritization is further enhanced by WMM and 802.11e support. VLAN separation is available both port-based and tag-based, allowing secure network segmentation. Security features include pre-shared keys, digital certificates, X.509 certificates, TACACS+, internal and external RADIUS authentication, time-based login restrictions, IP and login attempt blocking, and a built-in random password generator. The firewall allows unlimited customization via CLI, as well as DMZ, NAT, NAT-T, NAT64, and port forwarding rules. Management is simple via a Web UI (HTTP/HTTPS), providing full access to device configuration, status monitoring, firmware updates, system logs, kernel logs, event logging, and troubleshooting tools. FOTA (Firmware Over-The-Air) ensures the router can be updated automatically from a server, keeping it secure and up to date with minimal manual intervention.
Industrial Hardware
The Teltonika RUT145 Industrial RS485 Router features industrial-grade hardware built for reliable, continuous operation in challenging environments. At its core is a Mediatek CPU running at 580 MHz (MIPS 24KEc), paired with 128 MB DDR2 RAM and 16 MB serial NOR flash, providing stable processing for network routing, industrial protocols, and multiple simultaneous connections. For wired connectivity, the router includes two RJ45 Ethernet ports (10/100 Mbps) with auto MDI/MDIX, simplifying cabling and integration into industrial networks. A 6-pin RS485 terminal block supports 2-wire and 4-wire configurations, enabling connection to Modbus, DLMS, DNP3, OPC UA, or other industrial devices. The RS485 interface also supports console access, Serial over IP, modem functions, and MODBUS gateway operations, allowing versatile integration into automation systems.
Power is delivered through a 3-pin connector supporting 9–30 V DC, with reverse polarity protection and surge protection above 31 VDC (10 μs). Passive PoE (Mode B) is supported via LAN1, providing flexible installation options. Energy efficiency is excellent, with idle consumption under 1 W and maximum power under 2 W. For wireless connectivity, a single RP-SMA antenna connector is provided, and LED indicators clearly display WAN, LAN, and power status. The device is housed in a durable anodized aluminum enclosure with IP30 protection, safeguarding internal components from dust.
