The Teltonika RUT140 is an advanced industrial Ethernet router specifically designed for applications that require secure network segmentation and reliable connectivity in automation systems. The router features two Fast Ethernet ports – one dedicated WAN and one LAN, both supporting speeds up to 100 Mbps and compliant with IEEE 802.3, 802.3u, and 802.3az standards with auto MDI/MDIX crossover. Its built-in Wi-Fi 4 (802.11b/g/n) provides dual functionality, operating as either an access point or a client station, with the ability to connect up to 50 simultaneous users. Wireless performance is enhanced by support for Wi-Fi Mesh, fast roaming (802.11r), WPA3-Enterprise/EAP security, and client isolation for higher data safety. Designed for industrial automation, the router includes support for Modbus TCP, DNP3, DLMS, and OPC UA, ensuring compatibility with PLCs, AMI systems, and SCADA controllers. With a 580 MHz MIPS CPU, 128 MB RAM, and 16 MB flash, it ensures stable, efficient operation.

The RUT140 runs RutOS, Teltonika’s feature-rich Linux-based firmware built on OpenWrt, offering enterprise-level control for industrial environments. It provides full routing support, including static routing and dynamic routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, RIP, EIGRP, and NHRP. Network segmentation is possible through VLANs, while QoS ensures efficient traffic prioritization across critical devices. Advanced firewall functionality includes NAT, custom rule sets, traffic shaping, and deep packet filtering, protecting systems against unauthorized access. The RUT140 is also RMS-compatible, enabling centralized remote monitoring, configuration management, and FOTA updates for entire fleets of devices, significantly reducing maintenance costs. For IoT and SCADA integration, it supports MQTT, HTTP/HTTPS, JSON-RPC, and flexible APIs, ensuring smooth data exchange between field devices and control platforms. With additional support for SNMP, TR-069, and email/SMS notifications, administrators maintain full oversight, even across distributed industrial networks.

The RUT140 is built to deliver long-lasting performance in harsh industrial environments. Its sturdy aluminum housing ensures mechanical durability, while an integrated DIN-rail mounting bracket simplifies cabinet installation. Optional kits also allow secure wall or flat-surface mounting, making it versatile across different deployment scenarios. Designed for extreme operating conditions, the device works reliably in a temperature range of –40 °C to +75 °C and withstands 10–90% humidity (non-condensing), ensuring stability in factories, power distribution sites, or outdoor enclosures. The IP30 ingress rating provides dust resistance, while low energy consumption (typically under 1 W, maximum under 2 W) guarantees cost-effective operation in long-term projects. Power is supplied via a 9–30 V DC input on a 3-pin terminal block, or through passive PoE Mode B via the LAN1 port, offering flexibility for various setups. Certified with CE, FCC, IC, UKCA, RCM, and EAC, the RUT140 is globally deployable.
