LTE Cat 1 Tracker
The FMC003 is a compact plug-and-play OBDII tracker designed for vehicle monitoring applications where LTE Cat 1 connectivity, GNSS positioning, and OBD data reading are needed in one device. It connects through the vehicle’s OBD port and can read standard OBDII data from the vehicle ECU, as well as OEM OBDII parameters where supported. This allows the tracker to provide access to real odometer and real fuel level data, together with a supported vehicle and data list that helps identify what information can be read from a specific vehicle. The device is suitable for fleet management of light commercial vehicles, driver log-book applications, insurance telematics, connected car use cases, and car rental or leasing fleets.
LTE Cat 1 network coverage is supported with 2G GSM fallback, helping the tracker maintain communication through supported cellular technologies. SMS text and data support provides an additional communication method for device-related information. GNSS positioning uses GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BEIDOU, SBAS, QZSS, DGPS, and AGPS, supporting vehicle location tracking across different operating conditions. The tracker also includes internal high-gain GNSS and GSM antennas, a Micro-SIM slot, Micro-USB, two status LEDs, and an internal backup battery. Its 67.2 x 49.6 x 25 mm housing is designed for compact installation through the OBDII socket.
Event-Based Tracking
The FMC003 extends tracking with detailed vehicle data reading, Bluetooth® LE support, and event-based monitoring. Through its OBD interface, the device supports HS CAN, MS CAN, SW CAN, and K-line data. It can read OEM fuel level, odometer information, and up to 32 onboard vehicle parameters using supported OBD protocols. Fuel monitoring can be based on OBDII data and OEM fuel level, while ignition detection can use the accelerometer, external power voltage, or engine RPM. Bluetooth® 4.0 + LE enables connection to supported external devices, including temperature and humidity sensors, an Inateck barcode scanner, and universal BLE sensors. These peripheral options allow the tracker to support additional monitoring scenarios beyond vehicle location and OBD data.
The device also supports firmware and configuration update through Bluetooth, along with FOTA Web, FOTA, Teltonika Configurator via USB or Bluetooth, and the FMBT mobile application for configuration. The built-in accelerometer supports scenarios such as Green Driving, over-speeding detection, excessive idling detection, towing detection, crash detection, unplug detection, automatic and manual geofencing, trip detection, and jamming detection. Sleep modes, including GPS Sleep, Online Deep Sleep, Deep Sleep, and Ultra Deep Sleep, help reduce activity when full operation is not required. Time synchronization is supported through GPS, NITZ, and NTP.
