Detailed description

Rugged Access Point

The Teltonika DAP145 Wireless Access Point is designed to provide stable and reliable wireless connectivity in industrial environments where performance and durability are critical. Built with a robust anodized aluminium housing, the device ensures resistance to harsh conditions while maintaining consistent operation over time. The enclosure is rated IP30, protecting internal components from dust and making it suitable for installation in controlled industrial environments such as factories, warehouses, and automation systems. This access point supports IEEE 802.11b/g/n (Wi-Fi 4) and operates in both Access Point (AP) and Station (STA) modes, allowing flexible deployment depending on network requirements. It supports up to 50 simultaneous client connections, ensuring stable connectivity for multiple devices such as sensors, controllers, and industrial terminals.
Additional features like Wi-Fi mesh and Fast Roaming enhance coverage and allow seamless transitions between access points in larger installations. Security is ensured through modern authentication and encryption standards, including WPA3-EAP, WPA3-SAE, WPA2-Enterprise (PEAP), and WPA2-PSK. Data protection is handled via AES-CCMP and TKIP ciphers, with automatic cipher selection and client separation for improved network isolation. The device also supports SSID stealth mode and MAC-based access control, allowing administrators to hide the network and restrict access to authorized devices only. With its combination of industrial-grade construction, secure wireless communication, and support for advanced Wi-Fi features, the DAP145 is an ideal solution for environments requiring dependable wireless coverage with minimal downtime and strong protection against unauthorized access.

Network Management

The Teltonika DAP145 Wireless Access Point provides a comprehensive suite of networking and management features designed for professional and industrial deployments. It supports both static and dynamic routing, including BGP, OSPF v2, RIP v1/v2, EIGRP, and NHRP, along with policy-based routing for precise traffic management. The device supports a wide range of network protocols such as TCP, UDP, IPv4, IPv6, ICMP, NTP, DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, SFTP, FTP, SMTP, SSL/TLS, ARP, VRRP, PPP, PPPoE, UPnP, SSH, DHCP, Telnet, SMPP, SNMP, MQTT, and Wake-on-LAN. DHCP functionality includes static and dynamic IP allocation, DHCP relay, server configuration, and static leases based on MAC with wildcard support. Quality of Service is implemented through Smart Queue Management (SQM), allowing traffic prioritization by source, destination, service, protocol, or port.
Wireless traffic optimization includes WMM and 802.11e support. VLAN functionality enables both port-based and tag-based separation, improving network segmentation. Security and access control features include authentication via pre-shared keys, digital certificates, X.509 certificates, TACACS+, and internal or external RADIUS servers. The system also supports IP blocking, login attempt restrictions, and time-based access control. Firewall capabilities include preconfigured rules via WebUI, advanced CLI configuration, NAT, NAT-T, NAT64, and DMZ functionality. Management is performed via Web UI (HTTP/HTTPS) with status monitoring, configuration tools, firmware updates, logs, and troubleshooting utilities. FOTA enables automatic firmware updates and notifications, ensuring the device remains up to date with minimal manual intervention.

Hardware & Integration

The Teltonika DAP145 Wireless Access Point is equipped with industrial-grade hardware optimized for stable operation and easy integration into specialized systems. At its core is a Mediatek CPU running at 580 MHz (MIPS 24KEc), supported by 128 MB DDR2 RAM and 16 MB serial NOR flash storage, ensuring reliable processing of network tasks in demanding environments. The device features two RJ45 LAN ports supporting 10/100 Mbps Ethernet with IEEE 802.3, 802.3u, and 802.3az standards, including auto MDI/MDIX crossover for simplified connectivity. An RS485 interface via a 6-pin terminal block supports both 2-wire and 4-wire communication, making the access point suitable for industrial automation and control systems.
Power is supplied through a 3-pin pluggable terminal block with an input voltage range of 9–30 VDC. The device includes reverse polarity protection and surge protection above 31 VDC, ensuring reliability in unstable power environments. Passive PoE over spare pairs (Mode B) is also supported via the LAN1 port, allowing flexible installation, although it is not compatible with IEEE 802.3af/at/bt standards. Power consumption remains extremely low, with less than 1 W in idle mode and under 2 W at maximum load. The device includes one RP-SMA connector for Wi-Fi antennas and LED indicators for power and LAN status. Mounting is simplified with an integrated DIN rail bracket, with optional wall or flat surface mounting kits available.
