CAN Control Adapter
The CAN-CONTROL is a CAN adapter designed for car sharing, car rental and leasing, fleet management, and car dealership applications. It is intended for installations where a connected vehicle solution needs both data reading and selected control functions through the vehicle’s CAN system. One of its key functions is remote door lock control, allowing doors to be controlled remotely in compatible vehicles. The device also supports window closing control, making it relevant for shared mobility and rental environments where vehicle access and vehicle status may need to be managed without direct physical interaction.
The adapter can read essential vehicle parameters such as fuel level, odometer information, VIN number, total fuel consumption, engine speed, engine temperature, vehicle speed, door status, lock status, handbrake status, and lights status. These data points help provide a clearer view of vehicle condition and usage, supporting operational analysis beyond basic tracking. For electric vehicles, the device can also work with battery level, charging status, charging cable status, and vehicle range on battery, depending on the vehicle. Available data and control functions depend on the vehicle’s equipment, model, type, and manufacture year, so supported functionality may vary between installations.
Tracker Integration
The CAN-CONTROL is supported by FMB1YX, FM36YX, and FMB64X series devices, allowing compatible Teltonika tracking solutions to extend their functionality with vehicle data reading and control-related capabilities. This makes the adapter useful in fleet systems where the tracking device needs to receive CAN-based vehicle information and support selected remote actions through the connected vehicle platform. In addition to central lock control and window closure, the device supports turn lights control and trunk release where these functions are available on the vehicle. These capabilities can help fleet operators, mobility providers, and rental services manage vehicle access and basic vehicle interaction through supported systems.
Vehicle range and driven distance data can further support usage tracking, while fuel and engine-related information helps describe how the vehicle is being operated. The adapter operates from a 9–16 V DC input range and is designed for vehicle environments with operating temperatures from -40°C to +85°C and up to 85% non-condensing humidity. A single status LED provides basic visual feedback, while the main socket, CAN socket, and switch support physical connection and setup. With compact dimensions of 51 x 36 x 16 mm, the CAN-CONTROL is designed to be integrated into vehicle installations without requiring much installation space.
