MikroTik KNOT LR8G kit

The MikroTik KNOT LR8G Kit is an advanced industrial IoT gateway designed to unify multiple communication technologies in one compact device. It supports LoRa® for long-range, low-power sensor networks, LTE CAT-M1 and NB-IoT for cellular data, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi for local connectivity, and Bluetooth 5.2 for energy-efficient sensor integration. GPS functionality ensures accurate positioning and time synchronization, making the device suitable for mobile and remote deployments. This flexibility allows businesses to connect and manage thousands of devices, from smart meters and environmental sensors to tracking and logistics equipment. The integrated LoRa® interface works on the 868 MHz band, ensuring stable long-distance communication in interference-prone environments.

Designed with flexibility in mind, the KNOT LR8G offers multiple connectivity options to fit diverse applications. It is equipped with two Fast Ethernet ports (10/100 Mbps). The first port supports PoE-in, allowing the device to be powered directly through the network cable, while the second port offers PoE-out to power an additional device, such as a camera or access point, reducing cabling complexity. Wireless capabilities include 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n) for client or management connections, as well as Bluetooth 5.2 for sensor communication and beacon applications. Cellular connectivity is enhanced with LTE CAT-M1 and NB-IoT support, ensuring reliable performance in areas with limited wired internet. Dedicated antenna connectors for LTE, LoRa® and GNSS (GPS) allow users to attach high-gain antennas for extended coverage.

The MikroTik KNOT LR8G Kit is engineered for demanding professional environments. Powered by a 650 MHz CPU, 64 MB of RAM, and 128 MB NAND storage, it runs RouterOS v7 with License Level 4, delivering advanced routing, security, and management features. The device supports Modbus, RS485, and GPIO for integration with industrial controllers, sensors, and legacy systems. It also features a microUSB OTG port for additional peripherals. The hardware design ensures energy efficiency, with power consumption around 6 W, while providing stable performance 24/7. Its rugged construction enables reliable operation in harsh environments, with a wide temperature range from −40 °C to +70 °C and humidity tolerance up to 95% non-condensing. The device includes mounting brackets for wall or DIN-rail installation, ensuring easy integration into control cabinets, vehicles, or industrial enclosures.

The KNOT LR8G Kit combines compact design with professional durability. Its housing is designed for industrial applications, offering long-term reliability in smart infrastructure and mission-critical systems. The device supports multiple power input options, including PoE, DC jack, or microUSB, giving flexibility for deployment in diverse power environments.
