Detailed description

Elevator Access Kit

UA-G3-SK-Elevator is a UniFi Access elevator control kit built around an Elevator Hub, a G3 Reader, two 2-wire PoE extenders, and ten Access Cards. The hub is designed for elevator access control with 18 relay outputs and a maximum user count of 6,000, giving the kit a clear role in installations where access permissions need to be applied across multiple floors. Its digital inputs include emergency, car position, car status, and door status connections, allowing the controller to receive elevator state information while managing relay-based access decisions. The kit also includes ten free one-year Touch Passes, adding a documented credential option alongside the physical access cards supplied with the system.
The Elevator Hub is powered through PoE++ and provides four PoE+ outputs, with up to 30 W per port and a 45 W aggregate limit. This power architecture lets the hub serve as the central powered element of the kit while supporting connected access hardware from the same installation point. Four 10/100/1000 Base-T networking interfaces are provided, together with a separate 10/100/1000 Base-T management interface, so network and management connections are available directly on the hub. UniFi Access is the management application for the controller. The hub also operates from -10 to 40 °C and at 5 to 95% noncondensing humidity, defining the documented environmental range for deployment.

G3 Reader Functions

The G3 Reader supplies the user-facing access point in the kit and supports several documented credential methods. NFC cards and keyfobs can be used directly, while Touch Pass, Apple/Google Wallet, and Mobile Unlock provide additional ways to present access credentials. A handwave Request to Exit function is also supported, using the built-in proximity sensor as part of the reader’s interaction capabilities. The reader communicates through a 10/100 MbE RJ45 port and supports BLE 4.1 and NFC, while power is delivered over PoE at 48 V DC. These functions combine access presentation, network connectivity, and power in one reader intended for both indoor and outdoor installation.
For physical deployment, the G3 Reader supports in-wall or gang-box mounting, with junction-box mounting available as an optional method. Its IP55 weatherproofing supports documented indoor and outdoor use, which is relevant when the reader location is exposed to conditions beyond a fully protected interior space. NFC operates at 13.56 MHz with a read range below 30 mm, and the supported technologies include ISO/IEC 14443A, 14443B, 15693, 18092, MIFARE Classic, MIFARE DESFire, Sony FeliCa ID-only operation, NFC Forum tag types, and ECP 2.0. The reader also includes a speaker and R/G/B/W LEDs for local interaction during normal operation. UniFi Access is used as its management application.

Extenders And Cards

The two included 2-wire PoE extenders provide the connection between parts of the elevator access installation where network data and PoE power need to travel over a two-wire path. Each extender pair combines 10/100 MbE with HomePlug AV, giving the kit a documented link method that differs from a direct Ethernet-only run. The transmitter side accepts PoE++ at 50 V DC with a maximum current of 1.2 A, while the receiver side provides PoE+ output at 48 V DC and 0.72 A. This makes the extenders an active part of the kit’s power and data path, with a defined role in carrying connectivity between installation points.
The kit also includes ten Access Cards for credential-based entry. Each card uses the ISO 7810 ID-1 format and operates at 13.56 MHz, with NFC technology based on ISO/IEC 14443 Type A and MIFARE DESFire. The cards also use the UniFi Access proprietary security protocol. Together, the extenders and cards complete two different supporting functions around the main hub and reader: the extenders carry network and power between system locations, while the cards provide physical NFC credentials for users. This gives the kit both connection hardware for the powered access path and a ready set of physical credentials that can be used with the documented reader access functions.
