Ubiquiti AI Multi-Sensor 2 Camera with 16 MP Dual-Lens, 2.33x Optical Zoom, PoE+ and IP66/IK10

The Ubiquiti UVC-AI-MS-2-W is an all-weather PoE+ surveillance camera built around two 8 MP sensors in a single housing. Together, the sensors deliver a combined 16 MP imaging system, with each channel recording at 3840 × 2160 resolution in a 16:9 format and supporting frame rates up to 30 FPS. This dual-sensor design allows the camera to monitor a broad scene while simultaneously maintaining a more focused view of a selected area. A wide field of view of up to 130.8° diagonal supports general scene coverage, while the tele channel narrows the view to 49.1° diagonal for closer observation of more distant details.

Both lenses provide a 3.18–7.42 mm focal range with an f/1.8–f/2.8 aperture, giving the camera 2.33× optical zoom without relying only on digital enlargement. This optical flexibility is useful when one installation point must cover both an overview and a tighter perspective. The two 1/2.8-inch sensors are paired with adaptive infrared LEDs and an IR cut filter for automatic day and night operation. Infrared illumination reaches up to 20 metres, helping the camera retain visibility in low-light or dark environments without requiring separate lighting equipment. By combining wide and tele views, optical zoom, and dedicated night imaging in one device, the camera reduces the need to install separate cameras for different viewing angles.

The camera includes onboard AI functions for recognising faces and license plates and for detecting people, vehicles, and animals. These capabilities help operators distinguish relevant activity from general movement and support more focused review within a surveillance system. Because the wide and tele views are provided by separate sensors in the same enclosure, detection can be applied across complementary perspectives from one installation point. This arrangement is suited to locations where a broad overview and closer identification detail are both required, such as entrances, access routes, parking areas, and perimeter zones, without introducing a second camera body.

An integrated microphone adds audio capture to recorded video, while the microSD card slot provides local storage expansion within the camera. Video, detection, and recorded events are managed through the UniFi Protect application, giving the device a central interface for configuration and surveillance operation. The camera uses a dual-core processor based on the Arm Cortex-A76 architecture to support its imaging and smart detection functions. A Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 interface carries network traffic, and PoE+ supplies power through the same connection, simplifying cabling at the installation point. The supported input range is 42.5–57 V DC, with maximum power consumption of 25 W, allowing installers to plan compatible PoE infrastructure and power budgets more accurately.

The UVC-AI-MS-2-W is designed for flexible installation on ceilings, walls, poles, or conduit systems, allowing the same camera to be adapted to different building layouts and outdoor structures without changing the camera model. Its enclosure measures 218 × 132 × 93.5 mm and weighs 1.3 kg, providing a substantial dual-sensor assembly while remaining suitable for standard surveillance mounting positions. The housing combines aluminium alloy and polycarbonate, balancing structural strength with practical enclosure construction. These mounting and material choices support deployment in exposed areas as well as indoor locations where impact resistance or protected cabling routes are important.

For outdoor use, the camera carries an IP66 weatherproof rating for outdoor exposure and an IK10 rating for resistance to mechanical impact and tampering. It operates from −20 to 50 °C and in 0–90% non-condensing humidity, covering a wide range of environmental conditions while clearly defining the limits for reliable deployment. The camera is certified for CE, FCC, and IC requirements and is NDAA compliant. These approvals support planning for installations where regulatory conformity and procurement requirements must be considered. Combined with multiple mounting methods, weather protection, impact resistance, and clearly specified operating limits, the physical design is intended for dependable long-term placement across commercial, industrial, and public-facing surveillance environments.
