Ubiquiti Display Cast

The Ubiquiti Display Cast (UC-Cast) is designed to instantly turn any HDMI-compatible screen into a centrally managed digital signage solution. Whether used in offices, retail spaces, hospitality environments, or public areas, this compact device allows organizations to present multimedia content without replacing existing displays. UC-Cast supports media playback in resolutions up to 4K, enabling crisp video, images, and presentations to be delivered to any connected HDMI display. It also supports YouTube playback, making it easy to share promotional content, announcements, or informational media directly on screens throughout a facility. Using UniFi Connect, users can create multimedia playlists and dynamic digital signage layouts from a centralized interface. This allows administrators to manage multiple screens across locations, update content remotely, and maintain consistent messaging throughout the network.

The device also supports HDMI CEC functionality, allowing connected displays to automatically power on and off based on scheduling or operational needs. This reduces energy consumption and simplifies daily operation without requiring manual control. It is important to note that UC-Cast does not support streaming from UniFi Protect cameras. For displaying surveillance feeds on HDMI screens, the Protect Viewport device should be used instead. With a simple integration process and centralized management capabilities, UC-Cast enables businesses to modernize their display infrastructure quickly and efficiently while maintaining flexibility in content delivery.

UC-Cast combines powerful hardware with a compact form factor suitable for discreet installation behind displays or within structured environments. The device measures 90 x 52 x 31 mm without its mount and 92.1 x 56.3 x 35.7 mm when mounted, maintaining a lightweight profile of 163 g or 183 g respectively. At its core is a quad-core Arm Cortex-A55 processor running at 1.9 GHz, ensuring smooth playback and responsive performance during content transitions and scheduling tasks. The system includes 2 GB of DRAM and 16 GB of internal storage, providing sufficient capacity for media assets and operational data. Power can be supplied via PoE using 48V DC at 0.104A, or through a USB-C power adapter delivering 5V DC at 1A. This flexibility allows installation in a wide range of environments depending on infrastructure availability.

Network connectivity is provided through a single Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 port, ensuring stable communication with UniFi Connect for content management and synchronization. A factory reset button allows quick recovery if required, while integrated white and blue LED indicators provide clear status visibility. UC-Cast operates reliably within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 40°C and meets FCC and IC certification standards. It is also NDAA compliant, making it suitable for regulated deployments. This combination of processing capability, connectivity, and flexible power options makes UC-Cast a dependable solution for professional digital signage deployments.
